Relieving your allergy symptoms

Unfortunately, you can’t avoid your allergies entirely. But we don’t want you to miss out on our gorgeous spring weather this year, either. There are a few steps you can take to ensure that your seasonal allergies are under control.

Before you go out in the morning, it can be helpful to check your local pollen forecast so you can know to take certain precautions. This way, when you’re outside, especially for prolonged periods of time, it can be helpful to wear a dust mask. It’s also helpful in this instance to keep the windows in your house and car closed.

It may also be helpful to plan indoor activities on windy days with high pollen counts. And, you may find it helpful to take an over-the-counter allergy medication if you need it. We can also prescribe you different allergy medications, such as a nasal corticosteroid.

You may also opt for immunotherapy, or allergy shots, where we give you controlled doses of your allergens and see if your body develops a resistance to them. Take control of your seasonal allergies before they take control of your life. Call us to make an appointment today.
